Description
The Peavey RX 22 is a 2″ compression driver engineered for touring and install rigs that need reliable high-frequency output without breakup. Its commercially pure titanium diaphragm pairs with an edge-wound copper-clad aluminum ribbon voice coil on a high-temp composite bobbin, giving the driver the thermal headroom to sit comfortably on top of a hard-working PA stack.
- 2″ format with 0.875″ / 22 mm throat and standard 1 3/8″-18 horn coupling threads
- 111 dB SPL sensitivity (1W/1m, on-axis, 90° x 45° horn) for excellent gain-before-feedback on stage or in a venue
- Frequency response of 500 Hz u2013 20,000 Hz, with a recommended 1200 Hz crossover point (12 dB/octave) and a lowest usable point of 500 Hz
- Power handling of 280W peak / 140W program / 70W continuous from 1kHzu201320kHz, and 240W peak / 120W program / 60W continuous from 500Hzu201320kHz (AES2-1984)
- 8 ohm nominal impedance (5.1 ohm minimum, 4.7 ohm DC resistance) for straightforward integration with common crossover networks
- 17,500 gauss (1.75T) flux density and a 2.0″ / 50.8 mm voice coil for tight control and low distortion at high output
- Compact footprint: 5.250″ diameter x 3.05″ depth
Whether you’re rebuilding a two-way PA cabinet or specifying HF drivers for a new build, the RX 22 gives system techs a known quantity: solid rider-friendly numbers, a titanium dome that shrugs off long sets, and coupling dimensions that fit standard horn hardware without adapters. It’s a straightforward, dependable choice for anyone scaling a rig where top-end clarity and headroom actually matter.
