Rather than pairing mics after the fact, Schoeps selects and matches the MK 4 capsules at the factory, then ships them with a certificate documenting that match — so your XY, ORTF, or spot-mic pairs stay phase-coherent and tonally identical from front-of-house to the mix room.
Each mic is built from the modular Colette system: a CMC 6 U analog amplifier body paired with a matched No. 131xxx MK capsule (MK 4 in this configuration). For engineers working choir risers, orchestral overheads, or ambient pickup on a large PA rig, that consistency across the pair means less corrective EQ and a stereo image that holds together as the source moves across the stage.
The set arrives complete and rider-ready in a wooden case, including:
