When a gig calls for real low-frequency extension without hauling a truckload of gear, the Dark Matter DM 115 gives you a self-contained sub that pulls its weight. Peavey built this vented enclosure around a heavy-duty 15″ woofer with a 3″ voice coil, driven by an internal amp section rated at 800 watts peak. DDT compression watches over the signal path, keeping the driver protected from clipping and overdrive during long nights without babysitting the levels yourself.
Hookup is straightforward for both DJs and touring techs: a combo jack takes balanced 1/4″ TRS or XLR input, while two high-pass XLR thru outputs and a full-range XLR thru output let you cascade tops or additional cabinets down the line. An onboard crossover network splits highs from lows internally, and the Kosmos C control lets you dial in extra low-end punch to taste. A polarity switch keeps phase aligned with your mains, and a ground lift switch handles noisy cable runs. Status is easy to read at a glance thanks to a combo LED that shows power and DDT limiting activity.
Peavey didn’t skip the road-ready details: a full-coverage perforated steel grille and steel handles protect the cabinet through load-in and load-out, forced-air cooling keeps the amp section stable on hot stages, and the footprint stays compact for a 15″-based sub. A threaded pole mount comes with the included speaker pole, so stacking a satellite speaker on top is ready out of the box.
