Description
The Fin from Heil Sound brings old-school glamour to modern stages, wrapped in deep-chrome plated housing that catches the light as hard as it catches vocals. Behind that vintage look sits a genuinely capable capsule: a 1-1/8″ low-mass aluminum voice coil driven by a neodymium, boron, and iron magnet structure, tuned for a 60Hz-18kHz response that keeps lead vocals present and full-bodied through the mid-range without turning harsh.
For front-of-house engineers and touring vocalists alike, the tight cardioid pattern is the real workhorse feature here — it rejects off-axis stage wash and monitor bleed, buying extra gain-before-feedback on busy stages and helping the mic sit cleanly in a mix without excessive processing. An internally mounted windscreen tames plosives and handling noise, so it holds up whether the performer is a careful crooner or an animated frontperson working the crowd.
Then there’s the showmanship factor: four red LEDs light up the capsule area, giving The Fin genuine stage presence under lighting rigs, in video shoots, or on camera-heavy livestreams — a nice bonus for acts building a visual brand alongside their sound.
This bundle takes care of the rest of the signal chain and stage setup: a 20′ XLR cable to reach the snake or stage box, and a telescoping boom stand to get the mic dialed into position fast during soundcheck. Everything ships in Heil’s aluminum carrying case, so the whole rig travels protected between gigs.
