The Heil PR35 was engineered for broadcasters, engineers, and touring vocalists who need consistency across every venue and every take. Built on the same capsule design as the celebrated PR30, it pairs a shock-mounted large-diaphragm element with a 1 1/2″ low-mass aluminum voice coil to deliver a wide, flat 40 Hz-18 kHz response that holds up under demanding front-of-house or studio conditions.
Front-of-house engineers will appreciate the true cardioid pickup pattern, achieved through a precision phasing plug with symmetrically placed rear ports. This design keeps proximity effect in check while carving out sharp rejection at 180 degrees off-axis, so bleed from monitors and adjacent sources stays out of the mix. A dedicated hum-bucking coil also makes the PR35 a safe choice near video walls and broadcast lighting rigs without introducing buzz.
Because it’s a purely dynamic design, the PR35 needs no phantom or DC power, and its element shrugs off extreme SPL without distortion or overload — a real asset for anyone mixing loud stages or unpredictable live sources. A three-position roll-off switch lets you dial in flat response, a -3 dB cut, or a -6 dB cut to tame proximity boom on the fly.
