Description
This is a demo PR20UT — the same PR 20 capsule and body that’s earned a reputation on stages and pulpits everywhere, just without the deluxe box, spare screens, and padded case. Heil built the UT line specifically for musicians, sound companies, and contractors who need a dependable one-mic solution without paying for accessories they’ll never use. Open it up and you’re getting the full PR 20, matte black finish and all.
Handling up to +140 dB SPL means this mic shrugs off loud guitar cabs, brass sections, and hot monitor wedges without breaking a sweat. The cardioid pattern delivers -35 dB of rear rejection, so it stays tight and controlled even when stage monitors are cranked and nearby mics are hot — a real asset when you’re chasing gain before feedback on a busy stage plot. The extended 40Hz–18kHz frequency response and large-diameter, low-mass aluminum diaphragm give vocals and instruments presence and detail rather than the boxy midrange some dynamics suffer from.
Built on a steel body with a neodymium magnet assembly, it’s constructed to survive tour cases, load-ins, and the general abuse of life on the road. This demo unit includes the mic clip, stainless mesh grill, and foam windscreen in a vinyl zipper bag — everything you need to get it on a stand and working.
