Description
The Electro-Voice ZX3 puts serious 12″ two-way performance into a cabinet light enough to hump solo and tough enough to live on the road. It’s built around the DVX3121 12″ woofer and the ND2 neodymium compression driver, slotting into EV’s ZX lineup between the 8″ ZX1 and the 15″ ZX5, with the same rigging flexibility that’s made the series a go-to for touring techs and installers alike.
This 60° x 60° horn version gives you a tighter, more focused pattern than EV’s 90° x 50° option, useful when you need to keep energy off side walls or push coverage a bit deeper into a room. Wire it passive for a straightforward mains setup, or bi-amp it when you want tighter control over the low end and horn separately. The enclosure tilts to 45° or 55° for wedge duty, and seven M8 rigging points plus the integral stand mount mean it goes from floor monitor to flown box to pole-mounted main without a fight.
Rated at 600 watts with a max calculated SPL of 131 dB, the ZX3 has the headroom for demanding stage and install applications, while its 97 dB sensitivity keeps amplifier requirements reasonable. Dual Neutrik Speakon NL4 connectors and an injection-molded polypropylene shell with a galvanized steel grille round out a cabinet built for repeated load-in/load-out abuse.
