Description
The Electro-Voice TX1181 is the low-frequency workhorse designed to sit underneath TX1122 or TX1152 tops, giving your rig the extension and headroom that smaller cabinets can’t deliver on their own. At its core is the high-excursion EVS-18S 18-inch woofer, rated for 500W continuous and 2000W peak, with 100 dB sensitivity and a calculated max SPL of 132 dB at 1 meter — plenty of output for outdoor stages, clubs, and touring dates alike.
What makes the TX1181 especially rider-friendly is its built-in 6 dB/octave low-pass filter. That means you can wire it in parallel with your tops off a single amp channel, no external crossover or extra amplification needed — a real time-saver for FOH engineers building out systems on tight changeovers. A recommended high-pass point of 30Hz keeps your system tuned and protected.
The enclosure itself is braced plywood and MDF, finished in EV’s durable Black EVCoat, ready for the rigors of the road. A top-side pole socket lets you stack a compatible top speaker for a classic sub-and-top array, and six mount points accommodate an optional wheel kit for easier load-in and out.
