The EKX-12 brings genuine Electro-Voice engineering to a compact, road-ready cabinet, giving mobile DJs, musicians, and club/install techs a passive workhorse that scales cleanly across gigs. Sitting in the EKX line between ZLX/ELX and the flagship ETX series, it draws on EV’s transducer expertise to deliver punchy, consistent output without the bulk of larger rigs.
At its core is EV’s patented Signal Synchronized Transducers (SST) waveguide, tuned to project a steady 90° x 60° pattern that holds up across mid-size stages and dance floors — with a 40° monitor angle and rubber feet letting it double as a floor wedge when needed. The 12-inch EVS-12M woofer and 1-inch DH-1M titanium compression driver combine for 350W continuous / 1400W peak handling and up to 131 dB peak SPL, giving riders the coverage and volume headroom they ask for.
Build quality follows through on EV’s rigger-friendly reputation: a 15mm plywood enclosure with internal bracing and EVCoat finish, eight M10 threaded mounting points, aluminum pole mount, all-metal handles, and an 18 AWG steel powdercoated grille. Dual NL4 connectors keep signal routing straightforward on stage or on the truck.
