Description
Every stage patch has that one unpredictable signal—an acoustic guitar, a keyboard rig, a DJ’s line output—that needs to travel a hundred feet of snake without picking up buzz. The ART ZDirect handles that job with a fully passive, transformer-based design, so there’s no battery to die mid-show and no active circuitry to color your tone. It takes a high-impedance 1/4″ signal and converts it into a low-impedance balanced XLR output that mixers and multicores actually like.
- Passive transformer design converts 50k Ohm inputs to 600 Ohm balanced XLR outputs — no power required
- Switchable input attenuation (0, -20, -40 dB) tames hot line and speaker-level sources without clipping
- Switchable low-pass filter (-3dB @ 30kHz) rolls off RF interference and DAW/computer noise artifacts before they hit the PA
- Switchable phase invert for polarity matching when blending a DI tap with a mic feed
- Switchable ground lift isolates input and output grounds to kill hum and ground-loop noise
- Flat, wide response — 10Hz to 50kHz, ±0.5dB @ +4dBu — keeps the source sounding like itself, not the box
Housed in a compact, rugged extruded-aluminum shell, the ZDirect is built for the realities of touring, install work, and DJ setups where gear gets stacked, stepped on, and thrown in a road case. It’s the kind of unglamorous, dependable box that ends up on riders because it just works, run after run, room after room.
