Description
Building a scalable PA rig means getting the crossover point right, and the ART CX311 gives system techs the control to do it cleanly. This two-way stereo crossover adds a dedicated subwoofer output, letting you split full-range signal into three properly managed bands for tops, lows, and sub reinforcement.
At the core are fourth-order Linkwitz-Riley filters running at 24dB/octave in a state-variable design. That steep, phase-aligned slope means adjacent drivers sum acoustically the way they should in the crossover region, avoiding the comb-filtering and dropout issues that sloppy crossover networks introduce at gig volume.
Each stereo channel gets independent level controls for its high and low outputs, plus a crossover frequency knob sweeping 250Hz to 6kHz — wide enough to dial in anything from small-format two-ways to larger touring cabinets. All three outputs (high, low, and sub) include a 30-cycle low-cut switch to strip out unwanted rumble before it reaches your amps. The sub output stands on its own with an independent level control and a dedicated frequency sweep from 50Hz to 250Hz, so you can hand off low-end duties precisely where your subs perform best.
- Stereo two-way crossover with dedicated subwoofer output
- Fourth-order Linkwitz-Riley filters (24dB/octave, state-variable)
- Independent high/low output level controls per channel
- Crossover frequency rotary control, 250Hz–6kHz
- 30-cycle low-cut switch on all outputs
- Independent sub level and frequency control, 50Hz–250Hz
For system techs who need dependable, phase-correct signal splitting without a rack full of guesswork, the CX311 earns its spot in the signal chain.
