For FOH techs and bass players who won’t settle for a modeled substitute, the Ampeg SVT-2PRO puts genuine all-tube SVT output into a 4-space rack format built for touring rigs. It’s rated at 300 watts RMS into either 4 or 2 ohms, so backline can stay flexible whether the cab load changes venue to venue.
Tone shaping goes well beyond a standard 3-band EQ. The Frequency control lets you pick the center point for the Midrange knob across five distinct voicings — 220Hz, 450Hz, 800Hz, 1.6kHz, and 3kHz — so the midrange character can be dialed to the room, the cab, or the player’s fingers. Stack that with the 9-Band Graphic EQ for fine sculpting, or set the graphic EQ up as a footswitchable second channel for solos that need to cut without a volume jump.
Under the hood: 4x 12AX7 and 1x 12AU7 preamp tubes, 1x 12AX7 and 2x 12AU7 driver tubes, and 6x 6550 power tubes doing the heavy lifting. Tube Drive control, complete tube protection circuitry, and user-adjustable bias keep the head serviceable and stage-ready for long tours. Rear panel gives you 1/4″ and Neutrik Speakon outputs, balanced pre/post line out with transformer isolation, effects loop, preamp out/power amp in, and a slave out — enough routing for monitor sends, backup amps, or recording splits without extra boxes.
