Description
Front-of-house engineers know the headache: a client shows up with an iPod, a laptop, or a DVD player and expects it to just work through the mic input on your snake. The ART AV Direct Box solves exactly that problem, accepting practically any consumer or amplified source and converting it to a transformer-isolated XLR mic-level output your board will happily take.
- Stereo RCA, 1/8-inch, and 1/4-inch TRS line-level inputs cover iPods, laptops, and consumer HiFi gear
- 1/4-inch and bare-wire pressure-clip speaker level inputs accept amplified signal up to 100 watts @ 8 ohms
- Heavily padded, transformer-isolated speaker inputs protect your XLR output and downstream gear
- Variable gain control lets you set level at the source rather than fighting for control back at the rack
- Switchable 4.8kHz high-cut filter and ground lift for cleaning up hiss, hum, and buzz on the fly
- Flat 20Hz–20kHz (+/-1dB) frequency response so playback sources come through uncolored
- Balanced 150-ohm XLR output, fully passive design
Where a standard DI box or a pile of adapter cables falls short, the AV Direct’s remote-level control and dual input paths (line and speaker) give you real flexibility on a corporate stage, in a house of worship, or backstage for playback and video content. It’s a small, rider-friendly box that eliminates a common source of last-minute scrambling before doors.
Compact at 1.85″H x 4.6″W x 4.4″D and just 1.0 lb, it tucks into any gig bag or stage box without adding weight to your rig.
