Getting real Ampeg tone from house monitors starts with a solid DI, and the SCR-DI is built around a genuine Ampeg preamp so front-of-house gets the actual character of your rig, not a generic emulation. The classic 3-band tone stack, joined by Ultra-Hi and Ultra-Lo shaping, lets you dial in anything from a rounded Portaflex thump to the bite of an SVT stack, all footswitchable for quick changes mid-set.
Stacked on top is the new Bass Scrambler overdrive, giving you tube-style grit and sag with independent drive and blend controls so you can blend in just enough grind without losing low-end definition. Every essential connection a bass player needs is on board: a balanced XLR out with ground lift for a clean FOH send, an affected 1/4″ output, and an unaffected 1/4″ thru for splitting your dry signal to an amp.
Beyond the stage, the SCR-DI doubles as a serious practice companion — a 1/4″ headphone output and 1/8″ aux input mean you can plug in, dial up your tone, and play along to tracks silently, anywhere. Housed in a die-cast zinc chassis with metal switches and rubber feet, it’s built to take the abuse of load-in and load-out night after night.
