Description
When a stereo source hits the stage or the console snake, the last thing an engineer wants is hum, buzz, or a thin DI sound. The Radial JDI Stereo solves that with a pair of Jensen audio transformers doing the heavy lifting on each channel u2014 no batteries, no phantom power, no active circuitry to run out of headroom. Because the transformers handle balancing and impedance conversion passively, the JDI Stereo shrugs off extreme signal levels that would choke a battery-powered active DI, making it a dependable grab for touring backline and FOH alike.
Sonically, the Jensens deliver a smooth Bessel curve response that’s flat from 10Hz to 40kHz with essentially no phase deviation, so keyboards, direct-output drum machines, and stereo playback sources arrive at the board sounding like themselves u2014 warm, natural, and free of added artifact. The transformer isolation also blocks stray DC and breaks ground loops before they turn into stage hum, and each channel adds a ground lift on its XLR output plus a -15dB pad for hot signals, giving engineers real control without patching in extra gear.
Built for the realities of the road, the chassis uses a 14-gauge steel I-beam frame with a book-end shell design that keeps stress off the internal PCB and shields switches and jacks from stage abuse. MuMETALu00ae transformer cans and an internal Faraday shield work with the steel housing to keep the signal path quiet even near amp racks and lighting rigs.
- Dual Jensen transformer passive DI in a single stereo chassis
- Kills ground-loop hum and buzz via transformer isolation
- Ruler-flat response, virtually no phase or harmonic distortion
- Per-channel ground lift and -15dB pad
- Rugged steel I-beam / book-end construction for touring durability
It’s the stereo companion to the industry-standard Radial JDI u2014 the same rider-friendly reliability, doubled up for stereo sources.
