Description
This PR77D is a demo unit in gently used condition, offering the full performance of Heil’s broadcast-grade dynamic microphone at a lower price point. It’s built for anyone who needs consistent, articulate vocal pickup on stage, behind a mic boom, or in front of a podcast rig.
Inside the purple housing sits a 1-inch, low-mass voice coil paired with a neodymium-iron-boron magnet structure, giving the PR77D a flat, extended response and quick transient response that keeps speech intelligible even under demanding conditions. A carefully engineered phasing plug delivers over -40 dB of rear rejection at 180 degrees off-axis, so bleed from monitors, adjacent performers, or room noise stays out of the signal – while the front cardioid pattern stays stable even as the talent moves around in front of it.
A two-position switch lets you tailor the tonal balance on the fly: the Voice setting rolls off low end at 120 Hz (-6 dB/octave) to tighten up spoken word, while the Music setting opens up the full 60 Hz – 16 kHz range for a fuller-bodied capture. Note that this mic is designed for boom or base mounting only, using standard 5/8″-27 stand threads.
