Description
Grab this gently used demo of the Heil Sound PR77D, a dynamic microphone engineered for broadcasters, podcasters, and studio vocalists who need consistent, flattering reproduction take after take. While this unit has seen light demo use, it delivers the same performance Heil built it for: a smooth, extended frequency response, fast transient handling, and clear speech articulation with minimal intermodulation distortion.
At the core is a 1-inch, low-mass voice coil paired with a neodymium-iron-boron magnet structure for strong, efficient output. Heil’s carefully tuned phasing plug assembly gives the PR77D exceptional rear rejection — better than -40 dB at 180 degrees off-axis — so bleed from monitors, side-fill, or nearby talent stays out of the signal. Up front, the cardioid pattern stays consistent even as the presenter or vocalist moves naturally within the pickup zone, a real advantage for live-to-air work and multi-camera podcast setups alike.
A two-position switch lets you tailor the tonal balance on the fly: Voice mode rolls off at 120 Hz (-6 dB/octave) to tighten up speech and cut proximity rumble, while Music mode opens the full 60 Hz–16 kHz range for fuller-bodied instrumental or vocal capture. With a 600-ohm balanced impedance and 148 dB max SPL handling, it takes booming voices and loud sources in stride without breaking up.
Built exclusively for boom or base mounting with standard 5/8″-27 stand threads, the PR77D slots easily into broadcast desks, podcast rigs, and studio vocal chains.
