Description
The Heil PR 30B delivers the same rock-solid performance touring engineers and studio mixers expect from the original PR 30, just dressed in matte black with red mesh grills for a more discreet or drum-kit-matching look on stage.
Inside, a large neodymium/boron/iron element combines with a shock-mounted diaphragm to keep handling noise and stage rumble out of your signal, while a hum-bucking coil shields the capsule from EMI generated by lighting rigs, monitors, and other stage electronics — a real advantage when you’re miking close to a busy backline. With a max SPL rating of 146 dB, it shrugs off guitar and bass cabinets, kick drums, and cymbals without breaking a sweat, and its cardioid pattern with -40 dB rear rejection at 180° helps it stay focused on the source even in loud, crowded stage environments.
Because it handles broadcast vocals just as confidently as amp cabinets and drums, the PR 30B earns its place as a genuine multi-tasker for both live and studio mic lockers — one mic that can cover guitar cab duty tonight and vocal duty tomorrow. It’s sold individually and also appears in the HDK-7 and HDK-8 drum mic kits, where its finish matches the rest of the kit. Each PR 30B ships with an adjustable mic holder in a foam-fitted protective case, backed by Heil Sound’s three-year parts / ninety-day labor warranty.
