Description
Heil Sound’s The Fin brings the brand’s broadcast pedigree to the front of house rider. At its core sits a large 1 1/8″ aluminum low-mass voice coil assembly, borrowed from the acclaimed Heil PR 20, driven by a purpose-built magnet structure for a natural, uncolored tone across a 50 Hz – 18 kHz range. Vocalists get that trademark Heil midrange “bouquet” centered around 4 kHz, adding presence and brilliance that cuts through a mix without sounding harsh.
A tight, linear cardioid pattern keeps off-axis stage bleed and monitor spill under control, so engineers can push gain before feedback becomes an issue – a real asset on crowded stages and busy monitor mixes. The dynamic capsule sits in a specially tooled rubber shock mount behind a blue-hued internal foam windscreen, protecting the element from handling noise and popping air.
The all-steel body wears a matte black finish for a look that fits any rig, while the standout feature lives inside: four blue LED lamps that illuminate only when the mic is connected to a professional mixing console’s XLR input supplying +48V phantom power. It’s a visual signature for stage presence and photos, switchable on or off right on the mic body.
- Smooth, flat-response dynamic element
- Shock-mounted large, low-mass diaphragm
- Cardioid pickup pattern for tight stage isolation
- Four internal LED lights with on/off switch, active only under +48V phantom power
- Includes a premium aluminum carrying case
Whether you’re anchoring lead vocals or building a stage rig that needs to scale with the venue, The Fin delivers Heil’s studio-grade sound with a visual flair that stands out under the lights.
