Description
The ZXA1-90B takes the well-proven ZX1 cabinet and gives it its own onboard amplification — an 800W module drawn from Electro-Voice’s Tour Grade lineage, the same amp architecture trusted on major world tours. That means you get road-tested reliability and headroom in a compact, rider-friendly box that’s just as at home as a monitor, a fill, or a main for smaller rooms.
Coverage is switchable between 90° and 50° horizontal/vertical patterns, letting you match the box to the room rather than the other way around — tight throw for deep rooms, wide pattern for close audiences. An 8″ EV8L woofer paired with a 1″ DH2005 compression driver hands off at 1.8kHz, delivering a response that stays usable from 60Hz to 20kHz (-3dB) with a calculated max SPL of 123dB — plenty loud for its class without breaking up.
On the input side, you get an XLR/TRS combo line input plus a separate mic input with its own gain control, and a summed line output for daisy-chaining additional cabs. A user-selectable 100Hz high-pass filter helps when pairing with a subwoofer. The enclosure is high-impact polystyrene with an 18-gauge, powder-coated galvanized steel grille — light enough to load in solo, tough enough for regular gigging.
