Description
When your monitor mix or FOH send is already crowded with kick, cymbals, and bleed from every direction, the PL35 earns its place on the rim. Electro-Voice engineered this supercardioid dynamic mic specifically for snare and tom duty, giving front-of-house engineers a tight, rejecting pickup pattern that keeps neighboring drums out of the channel and preserves the attack and body that make a snare or tom read clearly in a full-band mix.
- Tuned specifically for snare drums and tom-toms
- Supercardioid polar pattern for strong rejection of adjacent kit pieces
- Powerful neodymium magnet structure for consistent output
- Ships with the dedicated DRC-1 drum rim clamp for fast, secure rig-up
- Die cast zinc housing in a textured satin black finish for durability on tour
The frequency response runs 50 Hz to 16,000 Hz, wide enough to capture low-end thump and the snap of the drum head without sounding thin or clinical. It’s a passive dynamic design with a 600 ohm low-Z balanced output and a standard 3-pin XLR connector, so it drops straight into existing stage boxes, snakes, and preamps without any special power requirements. Sensitivity is rated at 2.2 mV/Pascal, and at 8.32 oz it’s light enough to sit on the rim without adding drag to your drum stand setup.
Whether you’re building out a full drum mic package for a touring PA rig or filling a single channel on a house console for a house-of-worship or club system, the PL35 handles the job with minimal fuss and maximum isolation — exactly what a busy drum riser needs.
