Description
When ceiling height or wall space is tight but full-range clarity isn’t optional, the EVID-4.2 earns its spot. Electro-Voice built this passive two-way around dual 4″ low-frequency drivers loaded into a vented enclosure, so it reaches down into bass territory that most speakers this size can’t touch. Up top, a 1″ titanium-diaphragm compression driver with a Neodymium motor and Coherent Coverage Waveguide keeps the horizontal-vertical dispersion pattern (120° x 80°) consistent across the room, reducing hot spots and comb-filtering issues that plague lesser boxes.
The three-dimensional elliptical cabinet keeps the visual profile low — a plus for restaurants, retail floors, bistros, houses of worship, and outdoor patios where the gear should support the experience without dominating the decor. Full-bandwidth overload protection guards both the HF and LF sections against abuse, and the shielded magnetic structure means it’s safe to run near displays or cameras for A/V installs.
Mounting is straightforward thanks to the included Strong Arm Mount (SAM) and hex-key, plus a rear safety point and suspension insert for secure rigging. At 8 Ω nominal with 89 dB sensitivity and a calculated 115 dB max SPL, a pair handles background and foreground reinforcement duty comfortably, and the frequency response of 65 Hz–20 kHz covers vocal and music playback without needing a sub in smaller rooms. Weighing just 8.6 lbs each, they’re easy for install crews to hang and easy for riders to approve. Sold as a matched pair in white.
