Description
When your rig needs a workhorse submixer that lives in the rack and doesn’t complain, the ART MX822 earns its spot. It gives you eight stereo/mono channels, each with dedicated level, pan, and effects send controls, so you can build a clean monitor mix or a quick submix for keys, tracks, or ancillary sources without stealing channels from the main console.
- Channel One switches between XLR mic input (with switchable +48V phantom) or 1/4″ line, giving you flexibility for a vocal, DI, or extra line source
- External effects loop with independent send/return lets you patch in outboard processing and blend it to taste
- Front panel headphone jack with its own amplified level control for reliable, isolated monitoring
- Per-channel green/red LED signal and clip indicators keep gain staging honest at a glance
- Six-segment L/R main output metering with clip indication for fast visual confirmation
- Balanced XLR main outputs for long, clean cable runs to power amps or house systems
- Daisy-chain multiple MX822 units via standard 1/4″ TRS cables to scale up input count as a show grows
- Rugged 1U steel rack case built to survive the road
Under the hood it measures up: THD stays below 0.01% at 1kHz, signal-to-noise runs better than 90dB typical, and channel inputs accept up to +24dBu before clipping — plenty of headroom for hot line-level sources. Max mic gain hits +60dB, so quieter sources aren’t left in the noise floor.
At 6.5 lbs and a compact 1.75″H x 19″W x 6″D footprint, it slots into any rack without hogging space, making it a practical addition for monitor world, FOH expansion, or a dedicated effects submix station.
